All club members and spouses or guests are invited to a "Toastmasters Christmas Party" at Frank and Irene's home this holiday season.
NEW DATE: December 21, 2008 from 3:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon.
Bring a dish, an appetizer or a desert to add to the bounty for all to share and also bring your beverage of choice.
Remember, as all the holidays fall on Thursdays this years, we lose three club meetings, this party will help us to commit to a great 2009. Hope to see you at the party!

District 84 Fall Conference Humorous Speech Contest
Saturday evening was loaded with dignitaries, dinner, Humorous Speeches, the Distinguished Toastmaster Walk (for the newly awarded DTMs), and finally, the results of the competition. The 2008 Humorous Speech winner was David Loyd with his entertaining and funny presentation.
Sunday morning wrapped up the conference with a District Executive Committee Breakfast for the officers and guests. Everyone gathered up banners and belongings and said "Aloha" to an excellent District 84 Fall Conference.

District 84 Fall Conference Saturday Workshops
Saturday offered Educational workshops. District 84 Webmaster, Jim Miller, DTM informed with "Invigorate Your Club with an Effective On-line Presence" and reminded us about the 2008-2009 Club Website Contest. Past District 50 Governor, Angie Key, DTM educated on "Masterful Marketing for Your Club." There were several other great workshops and presenters.
Saturday's luncheon roasted our past District Governor, Wanda Brown, DTM. The humor was excellent and "spirits" were high. Followed by the General Session where International Director Sal Asad, DTM presented. Then a District 84 business meeting stating how the District is doing and what the future has in store.

District 84 Fall Conference Evaluation Contest
The first District 84 Fall Conference was November 7, 8 and 9, 2008 in Melbourne Beach, Florida. Toastmasters came from all over Central and North Florida and even the International Director of our Region 8. Attendance was high, energy was great, the contests were fabulous and everyone had a wonderful time.
Friday evening hosted the Opening Ceremony & Evaluation Contest. Members who achieved communication and leadership awards received ribbons. The 2003 World Champion, Jim Key, gave the keynote address. The Evaluation Contest had eight contestants representing all divisions and Peter Gordon emerged the winner.
