Club Contests 2008 Humorous Speech and Evaluation

Articulators Toastmasters, our club’s and our neighboring clubs’ Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contests are right around the corner.

THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES FOR:
Test Speaker – Deliver a 5 to 7 minute speech for evaluation by all the contestants. Get additional speaking experience and excellent feedback.
Judges – If you can attend, are not competing elsewhere, and are trained as a judge, let other clubs know and serve as a judge at a contest.

Meeting Roles - Duties & Protocol

Prior to the meeting:

TOASTMASTER confirms the Speakers, General Evaluator, and Table Topics Master.

GENERAL EVALUATOR confirms the Invocation / Pledge, Evaluators, and Functionaries.

SPEAKERS inform the Toastmaster of speech title, manual, project, and time required.

At the meeting:

TOASTMASTER brings a printed introduction to be read by the Presiding Officer to bring them to the lectern.

SPEAKERS bring a printed introduction that leads to the speech subject for the Toastmaster to read and bring them to the lectern.

TABLE TOPICS MASTER brings a printed introduction to be read by the Toastmaster to bring them to the lectern.

GENERAL EVALUATOR brings a printed introduction to be read by the Table Topics Master to bring them to the lectern.

EVALUATORS bring a printed introduction to be read by the General Evaluator to bring them to the lectern.

NOTE: If you have a schedule change, find a replacement and inform the Toastmaster of the changes.

A Humorous Speech & Evaluation Contest?

Ever wonder what it would be like to be the last comic standing? Now, you have an opportunity to improve your speaking abilities and to be recognized as the best humorous speaker or evaluator in our club.

Now, take advantage of this opportunity to learn by observing the more proficient speakers who have benefited from the Toastmasters' training.

Am I eligible?

"A member is eligible with current paid dues and at least six manual speeches completed prior to the club contest." It's that easy.
